Letter Writing Prompt - Christmas
Each month we share a letter writing prompt to encourage you to put pen to paper more often.
A little suggestion of what you could write about, to get your creative juices flowing, and allow you to enjoy a relaxing mindful moment of writing.
December always seems to arrive so quickly. Just days ago, we were celebrating fireworks, feeling the change of season with the rusty coloured leaves and the low morning sun, perhaps the odd frost, and then before we know it, our lords are leaping and our geese are laying.
The lights are up in the high street and Christmas trees start twinkling, but it’s often difficult to get into the swing of festivities so early on in the month.
And so, every year, we return to our annual festive rituals to ease us in gently. Perhaps you’ll help some of the children in your life write a letter to Father Christmas, or craft some paper snowmen to hang across the room, or make a wreath and hang some mistletoe, or send your first batch of Christmas cards.
It’s these traditions we repeat year after year that bring out the yuletide magic in us, and embracing festivities means taking a break from whatever we have on in our real lives to favour kindness, neighbourliness, community and giving.
We wish you a very Merry Christmas.
