Letter Writing Prompt - Souvenirs

Each month we share a letter writing prompt to encourage you to put pen to paper more often.

A little suggestion of what you could write about, to get your creative juices flowing, and allow you to enjoy a relaxing mindful moment of writing.

This month, your letter writing prompt is souvenirs.

And I don’t mean in the mass-produced trinket-y way that usually springs to mind when we hear that word!

Taken from the French ‘souvenir’ which means ‘to remember’, a souvenir can be any small token from a trip or experience that reignites a memory for you. Whilst it normally takes the form of a small keepsake, it could also be a song, a smell or even a taste that instantly transports you back to a moment of time gone by.

Think back and remember a happy trip you once experienced. It could be from a weekend away just last weekend that you want to remember forever, or a holiday from years ago that still feels like just yesterday – why not write to the person involved in the memory and tell them why they made it so special for you, or write to someone you’d like to make more memories with?
