Letter Writing Prompt - Back to School
Each month we share a letter writing prompt to encourage you to put pen to paper more often.
A little suggestion of what you could write about, to get your creative juices flowing, and allow you to enjoy a relaxing mindful moment of writing.
This month, your letter writing prompt is back to school.
This time of year will always signify 'back to school' for me. As a child, it was one of the most greatly anticipated times of year. I loved heading back to class to catch up with friends, chatting about summer holidays and exchanging stories from any trips or adventures that had taken place.
Moreover, I loved heading to our local stationers to select a new set of pens, pencils and a pencil case to kickstart the year ahead. A nostalgic treat that I still reminisce about today.
This month, why not write to your child, or a niece or nephew, or even a friend’s child you know well who might be feeling anxious about starting at a new school, or to a parent that’s worrying about how they’ll cope, and help reassure them? You could recount some of your memories from your own first day at school, and help calm that nervous energy they may be experiencing.
You could even write to one of your old teachers, and tell them how their class helped shape who you are today, and thank them for their dedication.
Or perhaps, you could write to an old school friend you've not caught up with for a while, but you still hold so many dear memories with, and recount your favourite times with them, and reminisce over school days gone by?
