Our Summer Postcard Exchange has taken off!

When we first opened this year's Summer Postcard Exchange, we hoped it would encourage a few more handwritten messages to make their way around the world. 

To date, more than 150 people have joined the exchange!

What makes that number so exciting is what it represents. Each participant sends and receives five postcards, meaning there are now postcards travelling between over five times as many locations across the UK and around the world. From bustling cities to quiet villages, coastal towns to countryside cottages, each postcard begins a small journey before arriving through someone else's letterbox.

There's something rather lovely about imagining them all setting off together.

One postcard might travel just a few miles to the next county, while another could find itself crossing oceans and continents. Every single one has been written by hand, carrying a little glimpse into someone's day, their surroundings, or simply a thoughtful message to brighten another person's week.

If you've been thinking about taking part but haven't quite got around to signing up, there's still plenty of time.

New participants are added into the exchange each week, so you'll still become part of this growing community of postcard writers. Whether this is your first time sending happy post or you're a lifelong postcard collector, we'd love to welcome you.

The more people who join, the more places our postcards can reach - and the more letterboxes we'll fill with a little unexpected joy.

Thank you to everyone who has already taken part. It's been a genuine pleasure reading your messages (yes, we do check every postcard before forwarding them on to ensure the exchange remains welcoming and appropriate for everyone) and seeing such kindness, humour and creativity from our community.
